Say brehs, im thinking of relocating out of state. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to deal with companies while applying? Obviously I can't schedule interviews or anything like that. Has anyone done this before?
I generally move somewhere because I want to live there, not for a job so I move there first then apply...
One time I applied for a bunch of jobs and stayed with friends for a month.
Well thats pretty much the reason i want to relocate. Id rather try to line something up before moving cross country though
Save up wait tables till you get into what you're looking for?
Network see if you have friends living there facebook/ college friends/family etc to stay with help you land a job?
couchsurfing/airbnb
Place to stay isnt a problem..i just like to have shyt organized. I know some folks have landed jobs before moving, so i just wanted some folks to share their experiences.
Good suggestions tho...thanks
I'm the same way, maybe someone will come through.
This subforum doesn't get the hits it should.
good luck breh
Yeah, I've done that four times. Apply to a job out of state in another city and then move after getting a job offer.Say brehs, im thinking of relocating out of state. it depends on the job but this is gonna be pretty damn hard. theyre going to have plenty of applicants who are in-state and can interview easily, those people will get priority. also no employer wants to be responsible for somebody moving cross-country for nothing if the job doesnt work out
Send a cover letter stating that your relocating soon
Trying to do the same thing myself. Had an interview for a job in San Diego but it turned into a complete fiasco so I stopped pursuing it. Still looking though.
Are you looking at McDonald's or a mall job at Foot Locker or a real desk job?mine is a bit tricky because it'll likely be cross country
