Apparently this was the first record to use artificially created reverb

The. sound engineer played the recording through a speaker in the studio bathroom and placed a microphone in the opposite corner to create the echoey sound

from the 1940's

Interesting, very clean record for that era.

After watching "The Kings Speech" i've always wanted to go back in time and play a snare through one of these mics just to hear the natural reverb in the audience.
