this nikka conor has his entire country rooting for him :wow:

that atmosphere at the press conference looked incredible, it would be fukking crazy if he actually defeats aldo and brings that belt home and defends in that 80k soccer stadium UFC is talking about holding an event at :wow:

skip to the 5:35 mark

watch the rest after that :wow: this nikka was late to his own press conference because traffic was jam packed because everyone was there, he ended up walking a couple miles to get to it :wow:

consider me fukking hyped :myman: cant wait !!!

They are clearly milking it for all its worth, and still getting 500,000 views after one day

:whoa:

This a big fight no doubt. But 2M is a pipe dream breh PPV numbers are down in boxing and MMA. UFC 100 with an amazing card (2 of MMA's biggest names, GSP & Brock), tons of buzz, and during MMA's peak (in terms of popularity) did 1.6M. This is not beating that. This card will do in the 750-800k range, possibly (if lucky) breaking 1M.

Hmm.. If Ronda did 600k buys and for a $1mm bonus...

Conor looking at $4mm pay day, maybe

Edit: smh at the PPV revenue possibly being $120mm and he only gets 4

What are you basing this off of? $120 million means around 2 million buys, which is ridiculous. In today's PPV climate 1M buys is very tough to achieve.

$60 x 2mm buys :yeshrug:

edit...i just read the rest. I'm giving the OP the benefit of the doubt on that estimate...

Either way, the cut of the PPV revenue that Conor will get is small as hell. Which is the larger point I was hinting at

No way this card is doing 2 million buys. More like 700k, which would be $42 million PPV revenue for North America. But if you add the international Premium channel revenue and the lowercost PPVs from overseas the total probably is closer to $60 million.

I bet Connor is going to get at least $5 million with Jose getting another $5. Add ~$2.5 million for Lawler and ~$1.5 million for MacDonald. Total PPV payout ~$14 million out of $60 million.

edit. thanks for rep points breh

Your numbers are off breh.

1. You have to divide that $42 million by 2 because the cable companies take a 50% cut.

2. Conor getting at least $5 million? No chance. Conor & Aldo are not getting $5 million each, not even that close. GSP & Brock get around $5 million a fight. Conor & Aldo are not GSP/Brock. Let's say the PPV is a success, I would guess that Conor will get around $1 million. Jose will get about the same.

3. Robbie is not getting $2.5 million. I doubt he even gets half of that. Depending on if he wins and his cut of the PPV, Robbie will probably make around 700-800k. Rory on the other hand does not get a cut of the PPV and depending on if he wins or not, will get in the neighbourhood of 500k. More if he wins and less if he loses.

* I doubt Conor gets a cut of the PPV, that's reserved for champions and established stars.

If I had to guess, the only fighters that I see getting $2.5+ million in the UFC are Jones, Anderson and Rousey.

Do you ever seeing a UFC fighter breaking the system like Floyd and making huge bank? i'm looking at the salary for these fighters like it can't be this low

I don't see that happening. How would it work? A fighter would need to create their own organization/promotion to make serious bank. It won't work with the UFC's business model (where they pay a small percentage of the revenue, around 10% to the fighters). In boxing, the fighters take home the majority of the revenue.
