Yup it's crack once you get past the tiny learning curve with the new start menu.

Faster than Windows 7
Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus built-in
Boots up in like 10 seconds
ISO Mounting support (no need for apps Daemon Tools)

There's probably more but I'm feeling it so far. I think if you don't get used to/like the new Start menu than stick with Windows 7 because it's not changing. I've come to like it though so I don't see myself going back.

I threw it on my netbook, it keeps giving me a flashing screen everytime I try to open an app

I'm assuming this is because nvidia has'nt released drivers for Windows 8 for the video card or something, at least that's the consensus on mydigitallife.

My guess is that it would be better til it's released to MSDN (I think on the 15th) because by then there will be more updates and such

Thanks for the input. So will I be able to upgrade from windows 7, or do I gotta do a clean install? Also what about a crack for the product key. Does this exist yet?

You can do an upgrade if you're coming from 7 I think Vista can too but it can't save Programs. Clean install is always best though.

I think the the version floating around the net didn't need a key or something but I'm not sure. I'm using the Release Preview from Microsoft right now.

I think the ones that leaked last week were the enterprise versions...that's why they did'nt need keys or activations

I dont wanna fukk with a release candidate cuz that will cause me to have to reinstall when it expires. I prefer not to have to do a clean install. Mostly cuz recreating my iTunes playlist are a royal pain in the ass. Everything else is backed up to another computer, dropbox, or a separate partition of my hard drive.

All the built-in apps besides Weather suck, I never use them. They're gonna be crazy on tablets though.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I don't like that there's no option to make it "non-Metro" too.

Windows 8 is definitely faster than 7 without a doubt but this whole having to press the windows key to get to the "actual" desktop or installing crazy ass apps to remove the metro shyt is kinda stupid IMO.

For tablets it will be great but on a desktop? :shaq2:
