While the concept of the chromebook intrigues me, I can't solely rely on webapps for my workflow right now. I think this might be the setup of the future, but companies like Adobe need to port their apps to an HTML5 app before it gains serious traction.

I thought it was really strange they made a high end one. Like people are saying it is just a glorified tablet, this type of OS won't make sense until software companies develop with web apps in mind.

I would suggest installing the os in a virtualbox first and see if you like it first.

ipad ??? :scusthov:

i already got a nexus 7

I need something with a full keyboard though.

iPads have full mac island keyboard compatibility. Breh you can knock apple for their prices, never for their products.

A friend of mine literally used it like a desktop hybrid before the desktop hybrid era

Get a Surfact RT, an Android Tablet, or a cheap windows 8 laptop. all are supremely better than a chromebook.

Windows 8?

I got one a few weeks ago for doing work online when I'm not at home, I'm very pleased. It's incredibly portable and efficient for my needs. I'm a booking agent, so all the tools I'm using are online based anyway, email, indieonthemove.com, gmaps, etc. Plus I use alot of other google web apps like google drive, calendar, gmail pretty religiously. Makes doing work in coffeeshops a lot less cluttered, I don't have to lug my other laptop (which by comparison is gargantuan) around with it's powercord and shytty battery life. My dell laptop stays at home and is used solely for programming and web development.

I think im gonna pick one up. Thats basically why i was thinking of it. You're using it the same way I need to use it for. I need it mostly for webuse and all the google on line apps.
