I need to upgrade my car and I'm looking at the Toyota Prius. It gets 45 MPG in the city so it will save me a lot of money. The dudes on my job told me that black people shouldn't buy these but honestly, I just want to save some cash. I wanted to see if anyone here owned one and if they liked it or not.

Sounds good. I'm looking at getting a 2009 or 2010. I'm in Texas so I won't have to deal with the snow.

I've heard bad things about them reliability wise. And the savings on gas aren't worth the expensive price for the car, when compared to similar all gas vehicles. For example you can get a Honda Accord, which is larger, better looking, more reliable, and more enjoyable to drive. for $5000 less than a Prius. Are you really gonna save $5000 in gas over the next 4-6 years?
