Surprised that there is no thread on this. It's not the best movie in the world, but it captured the vibe on the streets of NYC in 1994 pretty well.

Maybe @NYC Rebel and @GinaThatAintNoDamnPuppy! can relate as we might be a little too young to fully grasp it, but that movie brought back so much memories of my childhood in harlem.

I saw it but I dont remember it. Wifey said it was :ld: The plot was :comeon:
Yeah the story is kinda meh

a lonely kid who is struggling with leaving his family and girl who likes to sleep around right before college.

I just liked the vibe from it. From the streets, the payphones, watching ice cream cubes rolling around on the streets. The underground spots where people used to do business. The streets felt alive back then.

NYC isn't the same anymore and that movie was a great flashback for that alone. Lots of Wu-Tang and Biggie on there as well.

Dog that's like one of my top 5 movies of 2008.

That smokey NY vibe was :mjcry: Only film topping that for me is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990)

"All the young dudes" and the flicking of the cig topped the flick off nicely. That movie and A Guide to recognizing your saints are like companion pieces to me.
