shyt is :camby:

I remember Blair Witch started it off. I went to see it in the theaters and was like :francis: after it ended.

Everyone hyped Paranormal Activity like it was great. shyt was :pacspit:

I don't mind sci-fli flicks (Project Almanac, Area 51, Cloverfield), but horror movies don't do it for me. :ld:

Definitely, but when you think about...most horror movie are :manny:

I don't care for the genre anymore, so that may explain shyt. Only horror flicks I really enjoy are the serial killer villains; Freddy, Jason, Myers, etc. But you would think that with a POV cam it would enhance the scariness by making it seem like real life.

found film gimmick films are so fukkin zzzzzzzzzzzzzz to me...shyt is so lazy, uninspired and cheap.

the worst part is they are so paint by the numbers, cheap as fukk to make and always have the younger crowd excited to see them thus they always turn a profit and lead to another one. sometimes I really fukking hate the fickle ass people in this world who think that jump scares and predictable rises in volume with sound effects = scary...

I liked the use of found footage in Sinister through the tapes. The tapes were made to look old and authentic in contrast to something like VHS(I did think the first film in the series was a decent horror film). In Sinister the traditional filming was able to capture the atmosphere of the house and characters while the found footage films were actual found footage.

The funny thing imo is most found footage movies don't really benefit from being found footage.
For example I think a film like Project Almanac would be rated similarly even if it wasn't found footage.
