One of the reasons that WWE is reportedly pushing Baron Corbin - first as a nemesis for Roman Reigns and now as the acting GM on Raw - is because he is hated so much by the audience that by putting him on TV at the same time as Reigns automatically lessens the negative reaction towards Roman and often times, leads to the fans cheering him.

Anyways the reason why this works, is because Corbin is not trying so hard to look like a badass.
