Currently using the app Pimsleur to learn Dutch. Don't ask me why I chose this language just picked one rather than French or German.

On my 3rd day. Just feeling like upping up some skills.

Spanish and French have some overlapping terms/similar from what I gather.

I think as black men, this is an important door for us to open. I know many have done it so clearly I'm behind the curb in it but I think I'm going to dedicate myself to it

Funny enough I be in Italy from time to time and I don’t know that shít at all and there’s a bigger overlap in those languages but idk ion like the people enough to learn just google translate

I speak a little Spanish because half my wife’s family are from Peru so it helps. I never speak it though, just helps me understand what’s said.

I think this board can play a big role in this too as well.

We joke we laugh and sometimes takes very personal shots at one another on here but I think this might be a challenge to one of us to kind of benefit us for the rest of our lives.

Look at Kobe - he knew five or six different languages. There's something about knowing how to speak another language in a room that is like a superpower no one can take away from you.

It's one thing to hit someone with an obscure book or fact- it's another to start speaking their language in front of them

Was trying to learn Spanish but I’m from Michigan and haven’t ran into anyone that speaks it. Would only use it if I went to Mexican town
