She was talking about no one is impressed with dinos(cgi) anymore.. They been around for over more than 2 decades now..

And every year they have to create new wild dinos(cgi) to get ppls attention..

I feel like there is a new movement starting in movies in which fans want a healthy balance of practical effects and cgi..

Thats why mad max got so much love.. Majority of the movie is ppl doing stunts and then cgi lightly sprinkled over.. Also fans we're excited when jj proclaimed star wars would be flimed using practical effects instead of foucing heavily on cgi..

On the flip side thats why avengers 2 kinda was meh imo.. The ending was just one big cgi orgy.. Just completely took me out the flim..

I enjoy the cgi when it drives the plot foward or used as a crucial plot device, but that's rarely the case anymore

So how can cgi be better in the near future? Have we just out grown it? What advancements would get you stoked?

I think it matters when the cgi becomes overwhelming and completely takes you out the experience..

Ppl usually dont mind but in the transformers era cgi has become the main focal point of most blockbusters.. And that hurts story telling imo

A good exception is planet of apes.. The cgi drives the story and you never feel it..

The scientist was all hush hush bout the IRex being mixed with a raptor because that would cause some shyt. Sounds like the one drop rule to me then the trained raps flipped out on master when they met the kang

Jurassic World was filled with a ton of very meta commentary, on its own franchise and blockbusters in general.

Of course, when you then take part in some of those things you're commenting on, things get murky lol.

As far as the state of CGI, practical effects will almost always be superior.

Look at Back To The Future. The practical effects, like the hover board, are great. The CGI flaming tire tracks are....less great, lol.

Of course, then I watch something like Life of Pi or Gravity and then think about how great CGI can be.
