Kwanzaa*

And I definitely celebrate it with the fam. I actually give my daughters their gifts on the 26th (1st day of Kwanzaa) as opposed to the 25th of December.

Back in middle school my social studies teacher was on that Afro centric tip and we attempted it. I mean it was cool at the time but I'm older and jaded.

Can someone explain what exactly is this Kwanzaa thing and where it comes from

Pan-African celebration started in the 60's. Was supposed to be an alternative to Christmas. But was eventually made into a holiday to be celebrated by all African people/descendants of the African Diaspora, even those who celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah.
