Called in twice, didn't get on a case either time though when I went earlier this year we were put on a case and had to come back the next morning. Were sworn in by a judge and everything. In the end we spent two hours there that second morning before we were told they decided to drop the case. From the paperwork we had to fill out, it seems like it was a sexual assault case with an underage girl being the victim.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
I got a summons, got slightly lucky. Didn't have to show up till about noon and we were actually let out like an hour early, so I didn't have to spend too much time sitting around.

Anyways, for the folks that don't know, you get a summons but that doesn't mean you'll actually have to serve on a jury. You're in a room full of people and have to just sit there either until they choose you for the jury selection interview, or till the day is up, which fulfills your jury duty. I believe you can be in there from 8AM-5PM, so I got really lucky that I only had to spend like 4 hours. Definitely boring, but just make sure you bring something that'll hold you over; a book, earbuds, phone charger etc

Yup, case was about a homophobic dude who threatened tried to stab a gay neighbour on way to work at 4am. Don’t know how it got to trial as although you could kinda tell the homophobic dude probably was guilty there was no physical evidence. Took us like 5 mins to hand a NG verdict in.

THIS.

I've been called in twice, both times black folk on trial, both times prosecution was overtly trying to keep all the black folks off the jury. Only strength of numbers got any on the jury at all, but where we were it should have easily been a MAJORITY Black jury.

Here's what you gotta do. When you're in that courtroom, survey the case real well and think about who each side is gonna try to be kicking off that jury. If they kicking off one type, present yourself as another type. If they kicking off young educated folk then make yourself look more street, if they kicking off young street folk then make yourself look proper. You want to be on that jury though ESPECIALLY if they don't want you on it. We have a right to a jury of our peers.

It was about this old lady that got arrested for trespassing protesting the hb2 bill here in NC. They didn’t pick me for trial after I answered a few of their questions. The protests came from this thing we had called moral Monday’s they asked if I had ever been to one I said yes. (I was tryna holla at this militant chick) they asked about a bad experience ive had with police. I told em about the time I got mistaken for a b&e and German suplexed in a driveway. They asked how I felt about cops and that’s where I think they said hell nah :pachaha: I said if you arrest a 60 year old woman when it’s hundreds of people out there you a bully. They asked if I even wanted to be there I said I looked at the judge like :manny:

he stopped the next question like
:whoa: We’ve heard enough Mr. Parker is unfit for trial.

Got a check in the mail like 2 weeks later for like 12.92. Told my job I was on trial for a week so I got paid there as well :leon:

moral of the story issa bunch of bullshyt:shaq2:
