I started messing around with CrossFit a little last year. This year I decided I was going to drop straight up lifting all together and just go 100% CrossFit.

My gym opened last week and today was my first day back. We did the Murph workout....good lord that shyt was HARD

Hardest workout I’ve ever done in my life. I’ve been lifting since maybe 2012 and nothing compares to this shyt.

1 mile run - lightweight shyt
100 pull ups - bruh...:mjcry:
200 push ups - Killed that shyt :mjlit:
300 air squats - shyt felt like it never ended :mjtf:
1 mile run - :deadrose:

and I had a weight vest on up until the second run and had to abandon it when I started getting lightheaded.

Took me 44 mins to finish. Finished 3rd out of 10 dudes. Got smoked by two PAWGs by at least 5 mins

Did that shyt last year for Memorial Day, no partitioning. Took me 111 minutes. Honestly the mile runs were the worst part. The pull-ups (I don't kip) kinda sucked. Squats and push-ups were definitely doable.

Never again (or at least not anytime soon). :hubie:

I partitioned it

that’s the only way I could get through it with minimal breaks. Without breaking it up I would have probably added another 10-15 mins in breaks easy. And I did strict pull-up for maybe the first 10 and then kipping after that. I’ve never done kipping before but once I got the motion down I was able to do sets of 10-15 as opposed to sets of 5.

No hate.

It took me so long for several reasons:
1) My cardio was (and still is) shyt. Them mile runs with the body armor on had my lungs and knees like :usure: :damn:.

2) The pull-ups. I don't actually do XF so I never learned to kip. Had to do them shyts strict, I was scared of tearing something tryna kip on the fly :hamster:. I was knocking em out in sets of 10 (after the first 2 sets of like 15). Then I ran out of gas :deadrose:.

It's cats out here doing that WoD in 35-45 minutes easy. I think I got back to where I parked and just sat in the car stanking and dying :mjlol:.

Wasn't even gonna front this year. Once I master movement, I might do it again (because I hate myself :demonic:).

Bruh get back on it. I felt so accomplished after I finished it. Especially since the only thing I’ve done for the past 3 months was run and occasional push ups.

It was kinda crazy checking the app and seeing people throughout the day post times under 40 mins, no partitioning, weight vest the entire way. Kinda put it in perspective how far off I am from them. That’s why I opted to go to the “beginner” time slot for my first time back where it’s a little more lax on how you handle the WOD. Last thing I need is to see a swole chick breezing through shyt while I’m dying.

What do you mean that you partitioned it?

I only know one person that does it still, besides the folks I see going to the local affiliate.

Younger gal from work still stans it, she's a classic all-arounder: "jack of all trades, master of none" whose cardio is greater than her strength. Her programming knowledge is severely lacking, and her diet is also more restrictive and box membership fee is more expensive than if she was Oly or powerlifting or bodybuilding but I had to let her cook.

Done it for 3 years. Amazing results, great people. Then my main box closed, i tried others one but finally reduce to a minimum for 1 year and now stoped.
Crossfit is too time and energy consuming to get good results. You need to go at least 4 time a week to hot all muscle groups.
It was okay until i had children, more work and responsabilities.

Now I have my home gym and do mainly bench/squat/press/deadlift and kettlebell mouvements. I learned all these movement in Crossfit and lear a lot about how to "program" good workout for me. I do miss the metcon part.
