Anybody ever have trouble with their Xbox Live Internet Connection?

I just recently purchased an Account and it was working fine till my modem broke. I got a new modem and now my XBox live account wont connect. I've tried every solution the Xbox site offered and none of them work. Keep in mind I got a wired connection. Anybody got some suggestions please..?

I just know at my parents crib, my xbox connection always fails when I first log in and try to start a game

It only happens at their house. So for example when I log into Maddens lobby, I usually just got straight to quick match so I can fail out. Then I just back all the way out to the main menu and sign back into xbox live and attempt to run a real game
