I was there a few days ago...dope place for any political history nerd. They turned the book depository Oswald shot him from into a museum with a guided tour via headset. You get an eerie feeling while you're inside there...hard to describe.

This isn't from where Oswald shot him. They don't let you take pictures on the 6th floor...this is from the 7th floor on the side perpendicular to where Oswald was. The droptop was a little before the 2nd street light on the left side of the road when Kennedy got hit.

I was standing right about where he got hit right here. Oswald was in the window on the 6th floor to the far right.

The infamous grassy knoll.

They talked about how it was a lot of concern about JFK coming to Dallas, which was seen as hostile territory. It reminded me of Biggie and the warnings about going to California.

Just look at this newspaper ad these businesspeople in Dallas took out before his visit. This shyt is pretty disrespectful.

Welcome Mr. Kennedy to Dallas...

WELCOME MR. KENNEDY TO
DALLAS. . .

. . .A CITY so disgraced by a recent Liberal smear attempt that its citizens have just elected two more Conservative Americans to public office.

. . .A CITY that is an economic "boom town," not because of Federal handouts, but through conservative economic and business practices.

. . .A CITY that will continue to grow and prosper despite efforts by you and your administration to penalize it for its non-conformity to New Frontierism.

. . .A CITY that rejected your philosophy and policies in 1960 and will do so again in 1964--even more emphatically than before.

MR. KENNEDY, despite contentions on the part of your administration, the State Department, the Mayor of Dallas, the Dallas City Council, and members of your party, we free-thinking and America-thinking citizens of Dallas still have, through a Constitution largely ignored by you, the right to address our grievances, to question you, to disagree with you, and to criticize you.

In asserting this constitutional right, we wish to ask you publicly the following questions--indeed, questions of paramount importance and interest to all free peoples everywhere--which we trust you will answer. . .in public, without sophistry.

These questions are:

WHY is Latin America turning either anti-American or Communistic, or both, despite increased U. S. foreign aid, State Department policy, and your own Ivy-Tower pronouncements?

WHY do you say we have built a "wall of freedom" around Cuba when there is no freedom in Cuba today? Because of your policy, thousands of Cubans have been imprisoned, are starving and being persecuted--with thousands already murdered and thousands more awaiting execution and, in addition, the entire population of almost 7,000,000 Cubans are living in slavery.

WHY have you approved the sale of wheat and corn to our enemies when you know the Communist soldiers "travel on their stomachs" just as ours do? Communist soldiers are daily wounding and or killing American soldiers in South Viet Nam.

WHY did you host and entertain Tito--Moscow's Trojan Horse--just a short time after our sworn enemy, Khrushchev, embraced the Yugoslav dictator as a great hero and leader of Communism?

WHY have you urged greater aid, comfort, recognition, and understanding for Yugoslavia, Poland, Hungary, and other Communists countries, while turning your back on the pleas of Hungarian, East German, Cuban and other anti-Communists freedom fighters?

WHY did Cambodia kick the U.S. out of its country after we poured nearly 400 Million Dollars of aid into its ultra-leftist government?

WHY has Gus Hall, head of the U.S. Communist Party praised almost every one of your policies and announced that the party will endorse and support your re-election in 1964?

WHY have you banned the showing at U.S. military bases of the film "Operation Abolition"--the movie by the House Committee on Un-American Activities exposing Communism in America?

WHY have you ordered or permitted your brother Bobby, the Attorney General, to go soft on Communists, fellow-travelers, and ultra-leftists in America, while permitting him to persecute loyal Americans who criticize you, your administration, and your leadership?

WHY are you in favor of the U.S. continuing to give economic aid to Argentina, in spite of the fact that Argentina has just seized almost 400 Million Dollars of American private property?

WHY has the Foreign Policy of the United States degenerated to the point that the C.I.A. is arranging coups and having staunch Anti-Communists Allies of the U.S. bloodily exterminated.

WHY have you scrapped the Monroe Doctrine in favor of the "Spirit of Moscow"?

MR. KENNEDY, as citizens of the United States of America, we DEMAND answers to these questions, and we want them NOW.

Yup I was there about a year ago, I got some buddies in Dallas and had a great time. But ya, I didnt really realize the road he was shot on is sloped slightly. It looks flat in the video to me. It's actually a perfect spot to assassinate someone. There's many places for a shooter, and its right across from a empty park/plaza that makes it perfect.

You can even walk around the "grassy knoll" plus they got the spot he was shot marked. @VictorVonDoom what do you think happened that day?

Reading that newspaper ad and leaflet is :mindblown:

Conservatives don't change much do they? They are peddling the same neo-con BS that they have always peddled. The only difference is now they have a new boogie man.

I feel sorry for them sometimes. They are so consumed by fear and hatred

Oswald definitely shot him. But did he act alone or was he part of a larger conspiracy? :yeshrug: We'll never know for sure.

went here when I was in Dallas when I was 14. Dope experience but somewhat unnerving when you realize you're walking around in the place Oswald shot him from. What had me taken back the most was the amount of hateful rhetoric scribed in the guest book at the end of the tour, but I guess trolls will troll

I have been to Dallas @ 10 times and still haven't made it here. I will someday though. This subject really interests me and I agree, Oswald definitely was involved in some way, but IMO, it was part of a larger conspiracy for sure...

a week or two ago I watched two shows about the JFK assassination. The first was about the mob involvement. And the second was a reenactment of the shooting to prove that it was Oswald, and not a second gunman. Pretty interesting shyt

Pretty much. The JFK presidency mirrors the Obama presidency in many respects and I'm not just talking about being youthful and having an attractive family and signaling social change. They're both pretty much pragmatic status quo centrists who favored aggressive, interventionalist foreign policy. But they were both demonized and caricatured as communists, or communist sympathizers (in Obama's case terrorist sympathizer as well) who were anti-Christian and subverting the Constitution by the far right

The far right been the far right. Old school Repubs like Nixon and Goldwater and their supporters detested the far right and wanted no parts of them. Just listen to what people like Lawrence Wilkerson say about them. The difference between what Obama and JFK dealt with is in JFK's day, they were the fringe in mainstream politics. In Obama's day, the far right is the Republican party.

Yeah everybody I was with said it was a very strange, eerie experience. It starts off with them talking about JFK's symbolic promise and the changing times. Then they go into his presidency. Then they talk about his enemies and detractors on the far right and far left and tension with the C.I.A. They talk about these ominous signs and warnings about going to Dallas, and those flyers and articles. And how Adlai Stevenson got spit on and hit with a sign in Dallas. And what Oswald was doing on the low. Then you walk up to the sniper's nest recreated with the stacks of boxes and can look out the window to Dealey Plaza. :wow:
