Anybody else’s dealership emailed them about buying their car in the wake of tariffs?

Got a couple emails today about Mercedes wanting to buy my car before 4/30 :jbhmm: Interestingly, I’ve been wanting to get rid of my car since it comes with too many problems. My rear view camera stopped working within the first year I bought it, and I’ve gone thru 4 tires only on the front wheels. I’m getting tired of dumping money into this mf and it ain’t even at 100k. But what are the chances this ain’t a scam and they can take this money pit off my hands? I want a Camry or sum this luxury life is for @Luken :hubie:

Prices changed in the last month for sure....peep

I just copped my wife a 2025 Lex yesterday

Today I sold her previous 2022 for $39,300 but less than a month ago they were only offering 36k and the only reason I didn't do it then is because the new truck wasn't on deck yet.. so I just came up. It was only at 31k miles on it.

Now the wildest part about this is that they paid top dollar for that truck even tho my wife got hit about 6 months ago when we was on the way home from the beach. Minor fender bender with no real damage but still.....once it's hit I could give a fukk about it.

They gone turnaround and sell a used car to someone for 48k that's been in a wreck.

Game fukked up. But I only play to win.

So, are expecting a shortage of cars again? I'm not clear on what's happening in the market. I've been looking at a few used cars prices have been falling sharply since last summer, but I'm only checking a handful of models.

I mean are they pretending to want your car so you just trade it in and they sell you a new one? I don't know if that's a salesman trick or not.
Yeah, it's a dealership trick/strategy. Most people need their car, so offering to give "more than market value" on an aging one is a way to get you in there to buy a newer one since they're giving you a "good price" on the trade in. Truth is, dealers normally low ball trade ins so "more than market value" on an older car ain't usually. If it's a spare car, you probably have money for a new one and these emails or letters just might make you 🤔 when you wasn't before.
