Anybody else not particularly close to your parents (through no fault of theirs)?

I'm not talking about your parents were abusive or negligent or something like that. I'm talking about they were good to you, you love them, but you're just not particularly close? I love my parents to death but we've never had the kind of relationship where I tell them my personal problems or shyt like that

I don't tell em anything personal and I talk to em whenever I've gone weeks without talking to my moms but my dad we talk every week

Yep. Most of the time when I talk to my mom, it's just to touch base and let her know I'm still alive. Sometimes that gets to be too much for me. Like now, I'd be good if I didn't hear from my folks for a while.

I haven't spoken to my dad in years, so whatever.
