I THINKING OF PUTTING UP A WEBSITE FOR MY FAMILY. IT'S BASIC FUNCTION WILL BE JUST TO PUT UP BASIC FAMILY UPDATES FOR OUR FUNCTIONS AND REUNIONS. I ALSO WANTED TO ADD A FUNCTION FOR MEMBERS TO BE ABLE TO PAY FOR DUES AND SUCH FROM WITHIN THE SITE AND HAVE THE MONEY GO STRAIGHT TO A BANK ACCOUNT. WOULD BE EVEN BETTER IF I COULD HAVE SOME BUILT IN MANAGEMENT OF THE FUNDS SO I CAN TRACK WHO GAVE WHAT IN THE EVENT THAT I NEED THAT INFO.

WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT A PACKAGE LIKE THAT WOULD RUN ON AVERAGE. I'LL HAVE MY OWN HOSTING(UNLESS YOU CAN GET ME A BETTER DEAL). I JUST NEED TO HAVE A ESTIMATE ON THE COST TO BRING IT TO THE TABLE NEXT MONTH. DAPS AND REPS TO ANY HELP AND INFO.

Ya Wordpress would be the way to go.

Theme:
Don't buy a theme. Just pick a free one. Google - "Free premium wordpress themes" or "free magazine wordpress themes"

Hosting:
I'd recommend a shared hosting platform like Dreamhost with 1-click Wordpress installs. Use DRM54X as a promo code. That will get you $54 off the year. So it comes out to $3.75 a month and you get a free domain name in that price. So you can register whatever .com you want for your fam.

Functionality:
Pretty much everything you want to do can be achieved with free wordpress plugins.

NextGen Gallery Plugin to manage photo galleries for your fam. It's free.

Event Calendar Plugin to manage the calendar of events. It's free.

Members will handle the members only thing and membership management. I think Members also has some PayPal functionality. I've never tested it though. It's Free.

Alternatively, if you want a full blown membership management plugin with payment tracking etc....AMembers Pro is the way to go. But it's almost $200.
