Our draft is one day before the season starts. I did my first mock draft for a 14 team league (there isn't one for 16 teams) and I think I did pretty well. I'm looking to draft a similar team.

I gave myself the 12th pick in the mock draft. Here's the team I drafted. It's really weak at WR, so I need to keep a look out on that. I wanted to grab Brandon Marshall with my 3rd pick but he got picked up before I could. Any tips?

1. Darren McFadden (Oak - RB)
2. Matt Forte (Chi - RB)
3. Percy Harvin (Min - WR)
4. Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
5. Eric Decker (Den - WR)
6. Brandon Pettigrew (Det - TE)
7. Ben Tate (Hou - RB)
8. Chicago (Chi - DEF)
9. Mike Williams (TB - WR)
10. Josh Freeman (TB - QB)
11. Alshon Jeffery (Chi - WR)
12. Toby Gerhart (Min - RB)
13. Vincent Brown (SD - WR)
14. Mike Nugent (Cin - K)
15. Martellus Bennett (NYG - TE)

I'm in a 16 team league myself...at first I thought I was gonna target an elite QB and an Elite TE...now I'm rethinking my strategy and going for an Elite QB and an Elite RB...WR is fairly deep this year, I should prob add my league has 6 points for a passing TD

I think you can wait on a TE. I got Pettigrew in the 6th round in my mock draft. I could have waited a round and gotten Tony Gonzalez too.

I don't think Gronkowski will be repeating the same numbers as last year with Brandon Lloyd there now. Josh McDaniels loves giving him the ball, so he might be taking away some looks.

I'm in an auction...I was thinking the Drees to Graham connection...but thought otherwise and I'm thinking of grabbing Forte instead...if passing TDs count for 6 points in your league...I'd suggest getting a top 4 QB if u can

I played in a 16 team league a couple years ago and the only thing I could tell u is to get RB's early. My first 3 picks were RB's and I had a really good year. By round 3 there is pretty much nothing left but RBBC guys and backups. I went QB in the 4th round and then pretty much put together a WR core from the middle rounds. I wasnt able to get alot of big names but I got guys who were full-time starters and saw alot of snaps.

Don't follow that exactly because u have to go with the flow of the draft but just remember that RB's in big leagues don't last past the 4th round so get them while u can.

We're using 4 points for passing TDs. I was considering Rodgers/Brady/Brees in that order for the first round. All three were taken before #12 pick though. I don't like the McFadden pick because I don't think he'll hold up, but he was the best player available.

We played 16 teams last year and I got 4th. Kind of got dikked over with Adrian Peterson getting injured.

My draft is tomorrow, brehs. Any last minute tips? I've been doing mock drafts and it looks like I can easily just load up on RBs. Is that a good way to go in a league like this? We're playing 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 K, 1 DEF. Standard scoring, except we made passing TD worth 4 points.

Wait on a QB if TDs are only worth 4 points. I don't care what anyone says about a QB this year. There are some great value picks later in the draft. I personally think Big Ben will have a huge year. The Steelers will throw the ball a lot more and Wallace looks as if he didn't miss anytime so far and he's staying late and doing everything twice to try to get everything down.

I like the strategy of drafting a low end number 1 QB and getting a high end 2. I'd try to target two of the later round QBs, especially with passing TDs only 4 points.

the best tip I can give you is if you can win the later rounds youll be close to winning the league. in deeper leagues drafting a guy late who breaks out can mean a huge swing in your favor. do lots of upside picks, watch position battles, take some chances at thin positions.

all fantasy is about value, but the more deeper you go in terms of league size, the bigger impact of value. someone who drafted killa cam for cheap last year or got steve smith on a discount in a deep league profited a lot from that.

oh and the deeper your league is, the more durable and consistent players you wanna get in first few rounds. that means, Id stay clear of injury-ridden guys like dmac or andre johnson (tho I fukking love andre no homo)

in deeper leagues when injuries happen its tough to get adequate replacements. so you might not want the most flashy guys but the most consistent and durable.

This. Injuries on offense can damn near kill you if not altogether if it's not an IDP league.

If this is a snake draft Showtime, check and see where certain players are ranked. I used to destroy drafts (and still do) just by knowing when to reach and when not to reach. Always have a queue set so your options remain open.

Lastly, check for a player's PT. Sometimes I'd rather get a starter even if his team sucks than a really talented player in a stacked offense because the production may fluctuate too much.

Man, I was thinking about gambling on Darren McFadden if I land in the 6-8 spot but you brought up some good reasoning on why I shouldn't. I ended up in 4th last year in this league because I took Adrian Peterson first and that high ankle sprain/knee injury killed me. If he stayed healthy, I probably would have won. I had Josh Freeman as my starting QB too, FWIW.

I think I can steal Percy Harvin/DeSean Jackson in rounds 3-5. I think DeSean is going to put up big numbers.

Also, the later the bye week, the less reliable your bench will need to be, because between now and week 9-11, somebody will emerge. You just have to be quick to pick them up early.

This was the team I walked away with. I had the 4th pick out of 16 teams.

QB - Big Ben/Flacco
RB - LeSean McCoy/Steven Jackson/DeAngelo Williams/Dwyer/Daniel Thomas/Jacquizz
WR - Percy/Stevie Johnson/Randy Moss :snoop:
TE - Celek/Dallas Clark
DEF - Houston
K - Connor Barth

I kept passing on WR because they all got taken so early, so I loaded up on RBs.
