Although its been out for awhile, I just recently stumbled upon his theories. This pseudo scientist Masaru Emoto has a theory that claims that words/feelings/music etc. can affect the crystals formed within water, seeming to suggest that water can have feelings/memory or some sort of conscious reaction to the things it is directly exposed to.

Some immediate, and legitimate criticisms of Emoto's work come to mind, and are fairly discrediting (in the least). He didn't quite follow the Scientific Method, didn't do a double blind, and didn't really isolate variables all that much. Furthermore, the pictures he has chosen to provide and data that he has released seem to be pretty biased.
In any event, I didn't see any thread on this, and thought it was (at the very least) somewhat intriguing. Obviously, I called him a pseudo scientist for a reason, as he disregarded much of what is accepted in the scientific community, but, if somehow his theory holds even the slightest bit of merit, it would be a pretty revolutionary discovery.

You can see examples on the right - on one jar of water, the words
"You make me sick, I will kill you!" were written and "Love and Thanks"
were written on the other. As you can see, there's a very big difference
between the two images of the water crystals after water was frozen.
What does this mean? According to Dr. Emoto, water seems to have
"feelings".
In his experiments, frozen water crystals which had been exposed to
positive thoughts, feelings, words and music formed different shapes
than water exposed to negative things. Even water from different
places around the world took different shapes when frozen.

The only published reproduction of Emoto’s work on record was conducted by Mr. Damian Nash’s AP psychology class at Durango High School in Colorado. Despite numerous difficulties reproducing Emoto’s procedure and controlling the temperature and sample freezing and melting rates, at least the class employed a blind experimental design to eliminate the possibility of experimenter’s bias when photographing the water samples. As published on the website of the Institute of Noetic Sciences on May 25, 2004, Mr. Nash states that the team “did not find sufficient evidence to refute or accept Emoto’s hypothesis that thought influences water crystal formation.”
