Any other ladies think the whole hair/makeup/eyebrow game is outta control these days?

From IG thots to bloggers to basic bytches to college girls, seems like chicks these days are always on 10 with everything. The whole 22-inches of spiraled curled weave or perfectly styled "natural hair" (what happened to a simple flat iron, ponytail, or bob) eyebrows on fleek (can I just say the whole overdone demonic eyebrow thing really bothers me, fill in your eyebrows if need be, but most chicks done damn near airbrushed on twice their natural eyebrow), full makeup with contouring, lash extension movement is simply played out to me. And it really bothers me to see 13 and 14 year old girls put together like this, looking like grown ass women. It just seems like a generation of overstyled women who have gone from enhancing themselves to creating a full on new person.

No this isn't a hate thread before someone states that, especially because half the chicks doing it aren't cute :ld: but it just feels like a step back, plays into two negative states of femininity - women as nothing more than eye candy for men and women trying to impress other women

Well yes overly done makeup is a bit much. I wear makeup. I don't wear it everyday and when I do it's not crazy over done. Some women do have on so much makeup they look totally different after the process. Which is a bit too much. For some woman makup, fake eyelashes, and fake hair are a security blanket. It makes them feel better about them. I say if it makes you feel better about your physical appearance forget what the next man has to say.

I agree. I rarely wear makeup. And when i do. It be bold colored lipstick or just filling in my eyebrows a bit (like i need to )

Not to mention i dont have patience to apply a full face of cosmetics.

Same, I'll wear like mascara and Burt's Bees chapstick. It's much work, money and time I don't care to use on that. Embrace with my imperfect features or leave me the f alone.

Yes, especially the eyebrows and contouring. Once you look like a completely different person, you have crossed the line. Not only that but have you seen the new trend with the eyebrows? How is eyebrows that take over half your forehead cute now :dwillhuh:

Make up should be fun and used to enhance your beauty, highlight your best features. I can understand a guy being mad when you have contoured your face into a completely different person. And that is another thing. Some of this speaks to different deeper issues. Making yourself look like you have had plastic surgery :usure:

I think some of it is amazing and how people are using technics only people who were trained used to know. But some of that is not for everyday use its for behind the camera. I think it is part deeper issues and part competition with other women.

The huge eyebrows are too much on everyone, and the hair is too much on 95% of people, but I love good contouring and we'll done lashes. I'm a sun block and chapstick person myself but I wish I had makeup skills.

Myself. fukk 12(1)!
I like makeup. Not drag queen, full contouring and all that jazz (my face is already angular, so I don't need to contour), but I'm all about lipstick, mascara and bronzer/blush. When I'm feeling fancy, I'll throw some eyeliner on. I like looking polished, and makeup helps with that.

My hair is simple; I wear buns, bantu knot outs, and occasionally I'll wear it straight or get braids.

If chicks wanna do all that extra stuff, more power to them. It's not my cup of tea, but if it helps them feel more confident/secure, then I say go for it.
