The company just sent a memo and I’d like to follow up with a WFH request. Any advice on this?

it’s looking more and more like our office is gonna shut down and I won’t even have to request it, BUT my boss has already said if I prefer to work from home they’re going to make accommodations.

idk how much I fully trust em tho. that being said I’m waiting for an official announcement for whats going on with our office before I ask for anything.

If your company has a ticketing system or something that tracks output, I would create something that shows you are just as (or more) efficient doing WFH.

My company is going from full-WFH-during-covid to hybrid WFH in September (3 days in the office per week). In my department, 2 out of 6 people are already permanent WFH tho so I'm hoping I can use them as leverage to nudge things in my direction.

If not, I'll probably quit and study for some certs to reapply to a permanent WFH company.

My job is client focused so it depends on our client needs. We've been remote since COVID really started going down but some of us have been going to clients on a limited basis. Going to the office is optional still but some of us will go in because its easier to get through our projects.

Yes, I demanded it.
Should ask for it or demand it, well it depends on how much you are valued and if you are easily replaceable, as well as relationship.

Firstly, if you haven't asked yet, when you are on meetings make sure you ALWAYS have video on.
If you are not then people will say ya he should not WFH, he's never on video, as well as always be accessible easily.

If you have any disabled family member that lives nearby that can help your case as well.

Yup. This time of energy. I don’t care to be honest, either they can take it or leave it. I told em, I’ll only fly in for bigger events with our clients.

My video is on sometimes, but most of the time it’s off. End of the day, I like having my space.

You gotta have your video on.
If you find another job that is 100% remote, you will need to have your video on there as well.

Work From Home = Have video on at least 80% of the time

I have metrics set for productivity so as long as they're met it's fine by me. There's a drop off if I'm being honest but not so much it hurting business.
At my company folks that got to work from home actually improved there work by 90%
