Yep.

I live by a helicopter flight path and love when the blackhawks or apaches come thru.

Saw a chinook I couple times. Amazing sounds those rotors make.

Fave aircraft is the A-10.

I got into aviation as a way to get over being nervous while flying in turbulence
All I really know about are comercial airliners. Especially the new planes that dropped, and the ones that are about to drop in the next 5 years

Yes, commercial aviation though. The way it connects the world fascinating to me. I show my kids the flightaware app and how we can step outside 1 min before a Citation flies over. I think my son is into it, daughter not so much.

One of my majors in college was piloting. I've always been fascinated with aviation. Took some flight classes at Tamiami airport way back but cost was a factor do eventually have that up

I've been inside a Chinook helicopter, a Huey heicopter, and a C-130. But did not actually fly in the Chinook.

I love military aviation but like civil also. I love checking out Russian and Swedish and Israeli aircraft designs. Lots of dope shyt thats even better than many of the US built equipment but since we live in the US we mostly hear about the US built stuff

did one of those helicopter Groupon things.

legit amazing time.
the spot I went to was in Clifton New Jersey. its just you and the pilot, take off and fly around the statue of liberty. then when you get back closer, they take you to a spot about half the size of a soccer field.

then you get to fly the chopper. if you can keep it level and inside this specific circle, the whole experience is free.

let me tell you brehs, that shyt was fukking impossible. they even give you 3 tried.

you guys all need to look into that shyt, incredible experience.

I'm both fascinated and terrified of aviation. Ex is a pilot and got me into it.

The A-10 has become really popular lately in due to its durability and ground attack/ground support capabilities when it comes to the type missions that need to be conducted in the recent conflicts in Afghanistan. But overall as an airplane it's pretty much like a heavy bomber in the sky; a sitting duck unable to defend itself against other aircrafts. Pretty much like the Russian SU-25. Both are built to be rugged and good for ground attacks and can take some punishement.

But if i was a pilot i wouldnt want to be assigned to that either of them shyts. I'd rather be in something like the SU-34 which is great for ground attacks AND can defend itself in the air. Either that or an FA-18 which i hear is being evaluated to conduct ground attacks moving forward

Lately I’ve been following the news about aircraft sales and the Swedish seems to be giving everyone a run for their money with the new Saab Gripen.

Several countries are opting to get the Grippen as opposed to the overpriced FA-18 Super Hornet Boeing has been trying to push out there when it comes to 4++ Generation fighters. An aircraft with similar capabilities and even better is the French Rafale but the Ragale is way overpriced thus why India reduced their order despite how much their brass loved it. Most of these countries aren’t sold on the F-35 nor Stealth technology as they believe radar technology will soon catch up to the current Stealth aircrafts which totally sucks for the F-35 since it doesn’t have much else going for it other than Stealth. Word among pilots around the world is that the F-35 is lethal BVR (beyond visual range) but WVR (within visual range) it cant fight and are basically “fish in a barrel” as it was described during international tactical exercise. Even the Pentagon has admitted that "the F-35 can’t fight alone".

Add the fact that the Grippen and the Hornet have the same GE engine they are not missing out much and if anything most experts believe the Gripen is a better airplane and a better buy since it’s also cheaper.
