Nah I think on some level he respects that she didn't budge and also someone else was there. Everyone else he encounters always acts puzzled and confused before he kills them or does his questioning. She completely rebuffs him, he gets puzzled.

Coen brothers like to do shyt like this in their movies pretty regularly. The idea that you can find wisdom and strength in the most unlikely of people/places. Hell you could argue thats what Fargo was all about.

Good point. And even if this wasn't the case, I could write it off as Anton representing chaos. If you run across him, you might get murdered or you might not. It's largely up to chance whether he'll feel like killing you or not, and that's what I think is most scary about him.
