This is dead before it already started. The idea that an Indian American is gonna get anywhere close to a majority of the vote from Republicans is very improbable. Bobby Jindal found out the hard way in 2016.
But then again, the older I get, the more I realize that many people see a run for office as an opportunity to boost their national brand in a way that is much less expensive than a national ad campaign.

They're either trying to sell books, present themselves as a viable VP, increase visibility for future office or private/financial interests.
Think about it. 99% of people had no idea this guy existed before today. If tomorrow that number goes down to 98% that still means 3.3 MILLION MORE PEOPLE know who he is today than yesterday. And if by the time he drops out, which could be never bc nowadays free media is all you need to run a campaign, 33% of the population know who he is, that is 110,000,000 people.
