DETROIT (WXYZ) - Law enforcement officials, including the Detroit Public Schools Police Department, are investigating the possible abduction of a child this morning.
The child is believed to be an 11-year-old girl who has yet to be identified. The call was made by a 14-year-old child who said he saw the child pulled into a silver four door Pontiac Grand Prix with a dent on the rear passenger door.
The suspect was seen getting out of the driver's side door and grabbing the girl, putting her into the car.
The girl is described as about 4' tall, wearing a school uniform of a navy sweater, navy pants and white shirt. Her hair was braided.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, with a shaved hear and a goatee. He is approximately 6' tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a red t-shirt and black pants.
The abduction is reported to have happened in at the corner of Plainview and Belton, near Evergreen and Tireman on Detroit's west side.
Officials say they are contacting all district schools, charters and suburban school districts that have pickups in the area.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-5600, Detroit Public Schools at (313) 748-6012 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) SPEAK UP.
