During the pandemic, people became accustomed to takeout/food delivery services.
Companies made note of that and have set their price points accordingly.
Lot of people weren't cooking when they were stuck home. Definitely not cooking now. They'll complain , but continue their dining habits.

What companies need to be able do is charge people the maximum possible money for all essential things they need, and take all of their money while they are earning the most of it, which is during someone’s working years. If they are homeless or broke or destitute when they retire, that isn’t the companies problem, they already got their money.
This is why we are seeing food and shelter are the highest priced things. “You can’t not have these things, so there is no way you can avoid us maximizing the money we make(take) from you.”
