it's cool if yall already voted, but i'd say as the top genre of new music you check for. I think if you've been a hip hop fan for decades you'll always check for something, especially as some of our favorite artists from our youth still release music...

my question is is it the predominate thing you're checking for though?

Nah. Not hardly anymore.

Ive been obsessed with rap music most of my life but I've had a mental/ spiritual change occur within me over the past 5-6 years so most rap music no longer aligns with my spirit.

The language alone turns me off now....I can't do all of the profanity and N-words anymore.

I'll always somewhat keep up with the hip-hop scene just out of curiosity but I hardly ever listen to it in my personal time.

Jazz & gospel music is what I majority listen to now.

It keeps my spirit at peace

no. i don’t even consider it hip hop. it’s become a aborted monstrosity of painfully derivative melodies paired with barely literate gibberish steeped in anti-blackness.

i do. but generally they have to have a connection to an older or established artist. I don't really just checkout random new rappers. Drake put me on to Lil Baby & Gunna, Lil Baby to 42 Dugg, Pooh Sheisty. 42 to EST Gee. Sheisty to Big30.

No. I can only name a few young rappers. Most of new music is straight trash. Lyrics are trash. And even the beats are getting more and more trash.
