Anna and the Apocalypse (2018) - a British Christmas Zombie Apocalypse High School Musical Comedy

Saw this shyt today, it's a very fun flick if you can accept the crazy genre mash-up blend. As a zombie horror comedy it never reaches the heights of Shaun Of The Dead (the inevitable comparison), but it plays well with its genre tropes and it strives off its upbeat electro pop tunes featuring well-written double layers about high school life and zombie apocalypses. Probably the coolest little flick you should try to catch this year.

It kinda went under my radar but I caught in a sneak preview and was sold five minutes in. Of course the rest of the sneak audience groaned when the first song kicked in.

Bad smiley use, perhaps but when I read the title I was really pumped but the trailer did nothing for me. Looks cheap and not in the fun British kinda way.

Hmmm... I do think the movie was fun but it does rely on the genre mash-up more than actual quality character/story writing.

"Shaun of the Dead meets La La Land" is extreme overhype. It's more like "Dead Snow meets Glee"

But I still quite liked it.
