The irony in all this is the “independent media” sh1tting all over mainstream media when some of them are beholden to corporations just as much as mainstream media is once you reach a certain level of popularity
Also as a content creator you are highly incentivized to wacky titles and hot takes to get clicks/views as mainstream media is incentivized for sensationalism for ratings
This idea that news from social media and independent media content creators is somehow the bastion of truth is hillarious. It’s just as bad if not worse then mainstream media in some ways
