Word, I didn't watch the interview (I don't think I can stomach an hour of Cenk trying to rationalize his trash takes after already watching the Thanksgiving mess). But I can't imagine anyone covering Trump's first administration closely and coming away with "Trump's base will stand up to him if he doesn't do the populist things."
The people who stood up to Trump the loudest, are literally the people that Cenk and his ilk are blaming for this last election's loss. The Trump base stuck to Trump's message regardless of how obvious his BS was.
Regular democrats are against stuff like Universal Healthcare and mandatory sick time that Cenk wants. They're against scaling back the military to what's necessary only.
