I like this. Public funds fund a lot of current technology. The public should get a return on said investments and products. :ehh:
this is NEVER brought up by the private sector. the infamous cell phone argument comes to mind but truth be told PUBLIC funds a lot of tech advances or "innovation"

when i bring smthg like this up. people think because there is a market and profits etc that its still capitalism, but if capitalism is private ownership and socialism is workers ownership, then you can still have markets and profits etc but then again a lot of these definitions have lost all meaning. socialism is thought of as state ownership to most people.

knowing humanity's dumb luck, I could actually see the latter coming to fruition

:francis:tho which ever country claims the victory to "solving" or adapting to climate change could just pro long or slide us into "conscious capitalism" for another 100 years, but if it means humanity still can thrive an innovate I'm all for it.

That's because state ownership is the only form that's seen the light of day... in any meaningful way at least.
