AMIR KHAN has hit out at pound-for-pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather.
Khan, 28, is vying for a crack at the undisputed welterweight king following his unanimous decision victory over Devon Alexander in Las Vegas last Saturday.
Howwver, Mayweather, who boasts a record of 47 victories and no losses, has his eyes set on a super-fight with Manny Pacquiao in May, and believes that a bout against Khan wouldn't pull in the numbers as 'no one knows who Amir Khan is'.
But King Khan has laughed off Mayweather's claim, and has insisted the WBC and WBA champions is running scared of him.
He said: "I want the fight, but is Floyd going to take the fight? Is Floyd going to give me that chance? That's something we're all waiting to hear from Floyd Mayweather.
"I've been asking for the fight for the last two or three years. Now he needs to come back to the press and say, 'I want the fight with Amir Khan'.
"I know I'm touching distance away from that super fight. I think I've proven myself many times and I think this time I've proved myself in the biggest way so he has to take the fight. What else do I have to do?
"I have a bigger name than (Marcos) Maidana did or Victor Ortiz. I'm one of the biggest names in boxing.
"I know if I can bring Floyd Mayweather to Britain then I'll sell out Wembley Stadium. How big does he need my name to be?"
"I think these are little excuses. I'm sure people realise that. It seems to me he doesn't want to fight me. I have the speed, dexterity, accuracy, movement, power; I think it's something that he doesn't really want to mix with."

AMIR KHAN TO FLOYD MAYWEATHER: "COME TO ENGLAND, I'LL SHOW YOU HOW BIG I AM"
By Ben Thompson | December 18, 2014
"What I bring to the table is huge. I bring countries to the table, being a Muslim, being a Pakistani, having a huge fan base in India where they've got a billion people living there. Pakistan is half a billion. You've got England. Floyd said I'm not big enough. I'm a bigger name than Maidana. I'm a bigger name than Victor Ortiz and Guerrero," stated former jr. welterweight champion Amir Khan, who took offense to recent comments made by undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather suggesting that he's not a big enough name to fight him. According to Khan, that couldn't be further from the truth.
"I mean, fine, maybe I'm not on the same level and maybe he's a little bit bigger than me, Canelo, I agree with you, but other than that, I'm bigger than all of the fighters he's fought. On top of that, I've beaten Maidana as well. And then, if Mayweather wants to be a global star, he has to fight someone who has a big following in other countries, like myself like in Pakistan and India," Khan explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "But if Floyd still says I'm not a big name, I promise Floyd one thing. Come to England, I'll show you how big I am. Come to England, I'll sell out the Wembley Stadium fighting you. That's 100% guarantee. I think that answers his question how popular Amir Khan is."
