North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
most don't understand that it's the second largest religion on the planet. christianity is number one but its broken down into many denominations.

About 1.5 Billion people are muslims. If all muslims had it out for the u.s. it wouldn't be that hard to topple them.

Capitalism is the true religion. Muslims, Communists and atheists alike all :eat: off the U.S. economy. I just get tired of people talking that bull shyt. Just being around certain people and watching news makes me feel stupider.

I use to be Muslim and even went to a private Muslim school in Oakland, California for a couple of years. I was never taught to attack non Muslims or blow up shyt. Also suicide equals a one way ticket to hell in Islam. So I never really understood the suicide bomber bullshyt. All those religions books advocate some type of violence, slavery, pedophilia, etc... Islam just has more crazy people than other religions.

Also, people seem to think that Muslim women are degraded. A lot of those stonings, honor killings, etc are cultural not religious acts. My mom and sister both have bachelors degree. My sister has a masters also.

True, but to be fair, despite all that, Muslims generally are free to live their lives in this country without oppression or harassment outside of some isolated incidents post-9/11.

Now do you want to talk about how Christians and other non-Muslims in most majority Muslim nations are treated? :usure:

The poor treatment of non-Muslims, and Christians in specific in Muslim countries runs directy contrary to the teachings of Islam.

The Promise to St. Catherine:
"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.

No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses.
Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.

No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.

No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."

That's all well and fine (though the Quran also say a lot of unflattering things about Christians, Jews, and infidels but I'll leave that alone), but the topic at hand was how Muslims are viewed and treated here and vice versa. Non-Muslims are generally treated pretty shytty in most countries where Islam is the basis for their legal system.

Apostasy is a crime punishable by death in many Muslim countries and polls show overwhelming support for that among Muslims in Egypt, Nigeria, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and most of the middle eastern countries

I think Americans have a really good grasp of Islam actually.

Agreed. Though Christianity ‘seems’ to have the most professed followers here in America. But if you look a little closer you will see that yes; it seems to have the most “professed” followers – that is, professed followers in the sense of simply holding a verbal expression of belief – while as far as an embraced way of living, you’re likely to see Capitalism / Consumerism /The American Dream as the winner – :yeshrug:

Yup, and it's since been gaining steam in more progressive Muslim countries like Turkey and SE Asian countries as well.

It's not even comparable in terms of every day society. No need to pretend.

Japan, but from the 989
The only God that runs America is called money. All other religions get in line and act accordingly. If Islam was about getting that paper, America and Americans would join immediately.

Very True.

Remember when those Penny shoes were released back in the 90s, and the Air font on the back of the shoe looked like Allah in Arabic?

Nike did not want to lose money, even if it was a small market.

Look at Chik Fil A, the boycott got them bending over backwards.

you know, this explanation is getting pretty fukkin :belip:

we all know that islam is a peaceful religion if you really read it, the majority is peaceful, etc. but why does islam still produce extremists? why are these muslim societies so oppressive?

you can talk all that 'well this is what the quran REALLY teaches' shyt that you want, but what use is that when we see the real results

and more importantly, why should we put up with extreme interpretations of religion so that people can cling to these fairytales :snoop: enough is enough

And the bible says a lot of unflattering things about non-believers :manny:

Atheists make up the 3rd largest group after islam at 1.1 billion.

The point I was trying to make was that Islam in and of itself doesn't produce extremists... there are a variety of other factors which exacerbate and create and environment for extremism. It's like saying hip-hop gangsta culture created gangsta's... its a gross oversimplification of the realities in the inner-city.
