Comcast/Xfinity Confirming "American Horror Story ?6" Theme? - Bloody Disgusting!
FX has begun airing promos for “American Horror Story ?6” during their regularly programming, which prompted me to skim ahead to next Wednesday’s schedule to set the series to record.
I was surprised to see that on Comcast and Xfinity’s guide here in Chicago the series is listed under the title “American Horror Story: The Mist”, with the debut episode’s title being Chapter 1.
This firms up our story from Sep.1 when TV Guide had listed the series with the same title.
Assuming this is the actual title, I’m not exactly sure why “The Mist” would be some sort of secret, nor how it even implies what to expect on this season. If anything, it’s feeling more and more like a cheap gimmick to keep us talking about it (look at that, it worked).
The strangest aspect of the title, however, is that Spike TV and Dimension Films are currently in production on a new series also titled “The Mist”, adapted from the Stephen King story. This truly and really would suck for them as (in my opinion) the marketing confusion would be pretty prevalent.
FX CEO John Landgraf explained that when it comes to the teasers, “One is accurate; all the rest are misdirect.” He continued, “We decided, Ryan [Murphy] and I and [marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons, that it would be really fun this year…to keep it a mystery. There is a theme and a setting and a place and time, but we’re not going to reveal it,” per IndieWire.
Below is the promo that FX released that bears the same title, which means I guess we’ll be seeing some kind of railroad demon? Could this season be some kind of horror Western?!
Sarah Paulson joins Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Romika Annabell Osorio. We’re still waiting to hear if Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson or Finn Wittrock will return.
Haven't been keeping up w/ the updates so it'll be all new to me...thought last season was overall.
