In an attempt to return to the ground-breaking, acclaimed storytelling that made them famous, AMC is ditching all of its current (and future) unscripted/reality programming - except for Sunday night's post-Walking Dead shows Talking Dead and Comic Book Men.
The rest however, per THR - including the recently renewed Game of Arms, Small Town Security, and Freak Show - are gone. As well as the two Kevin Smith shows in the works (Hollywood Babble-On with Ralph Garman and a Robert Bruce comic collector series) and Chris Hardwick's upcoming Celebrity Bowling show.
CM Punk, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Chris Hardwick on Talking Dead.
“Scripted originals are at the core of the AMC brand. Iconic shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead have driven AMC’s evolution into a must-have television network," an AMC spokesman said in a statement. "We are proud of our efforts in unscripted programming and the unique worlds we have been able to introduce, but in an environment of exploding content options for viewers, we have decided to make scripted programming our priority.”
