Welcome to the future Brehs. This 50 something is currently looking to add some skills so that my Govt Contractor employer doesn't fire him like they have been firing all the other >50 year olds.
That's bad, but at the same time we should live in a world where we are fully capable to retire by 50, it's unfortunate that this is rarely the case.

Most people will get outdated, it is what it is.
you know what the moral of the story is?

Realistically, it's save the fukk up!
Save yo money, don't live beyond yo means
and remember, you need to save more than you think, because if you got kids, since the future don't look too bright you may need to save a hell lot for them too.

I don't practice this preach though, I live an above average lifestyle, but i'm doing that without saving much. I love fine cuisine way too much, I spend so much money on food. And then when I travel, which is often, I spend way too much on pubs trying different beers and other stuff.

There's a book called "Weapons of Math Destruction" that gets into how bullshyt all these algorithms are, from someone on the inside who was responsible for writing them. They claim to be unbiased while carrying all sorts of poor assumptions and inaccuracies into the process, but because "the computer says so" they get away with not even bothering with human oversight to see if its actually a good decision or not. There's an entire chapter specifically on the question of workplace evaluations and how often the algorithms get it wrong and make essentially arbitrary decisions.

Not surprise that Amazon would be the place to try something like this.
