Sure, some of his films have been not that exceptional...but to say he's done nothing oscar worthy is a flat out lie.

...Malcolm's a great movie, but once I read the book, I could really see some of the inaacuaricies in it. However I don't think anyone would doubt that Denzel should've earned best Actor for that.

I like Miracle at St Anna...highly underrated, even though I didn't like the ending.

I think Do the Right thing and Jungle Fever are contenders for best screen play though. They're definitely low budget by comparison to most big films, but the originality and memorable moments are second to none.
