Have you ever seen a movie that had a ending that was alright, but the moment you see the alternate ending, you go .

Example:



While the original ending was there for milking, this ending would have made First Blood into a legit Academy Award type of flick. It just felt like a proper conclusion to the movie, versus it being a hero lives another day type of shyt.

I always thought they fukked up the Descent by not making the original ending canon because the 1st version I saw was the European version and I was damn near mystified trying to figure out how they made a sequel. Honestly I don't even know which ending is the real ending since originally it ended one way and the other ended completely different but led to a sequel that was basically the same movie again.

The theatrical ending was definitely weak and kind of a stain on part 3. This alternate ending I'm not a fan of either tho.
