I thought ppl were disingenuous when they said there are so many JRPGs being made now

I'm playing old shyt too

Currently running through Vesperia, Zestiria, and House of Cards: Isle of Dragons

Scarlet Nexus is on sale. I want that
Tokyo Xanadu too.

Ain't never played Final Fantasy XII
Or a Trails or a Ys game

"Trails From Zero" is an instacop at the end of the month.

Need to eventually play FF7 Intergrade.

My favourite recent JRPGs have been Ys8 (action rpg), 13 Sentinels (Visual Novel/SRPG) and Fuga (SRPG).

95% of jrpgs will def keep you busy since most end up being around 50 hrs at a minimum at least the modern ones.

Tho trails has a shyt load of necessary dialogue. Much more then Persona 5 if you played that. It’s worth pointing that out.

Buy Playstation plus extra, get the Ys series and FF series, eat.

I'm bored with Vespariq.

It's a Tales game I should have knew what to expect.

I heard Berseria and Arise is better
Vesperia has some horrible pacing out the gate. It was rough even when it released, a decade later? Its rough.

You can't go wrong with Berseria or Arise.

Beseria is a great entry point. Great JRPG all around. I heard Tales of the Abyss is the peak of the franchise but I never played it so can't comment on it.

Arise is solid. It has its issues and personally felt it didn't live up to the hype but def worth it especially if you get it on sale.

Thanks I'll try them

Wish they had more PS1 and 2 titles that got ported over

Might just get Wild Arms 4

Penny Blood and Armed Fantasia:feedme:

I liked Tales of Eternia and Symphonia. The only ones I've played

The biggest issue with Tales games is that they don't stick to the plot enough and don't have enough big moment scenarios

And the characters are really immature

I'm glad they're moving away from that direction

Is Scarlett Nexus good?
Its a really good action-rpg. Belongs closer to games like Astral Chain than Star Ocean imo. Damned good if you don't take the plot too seriously or go into it thinking that its like Persona or something.

Soundtrack is fire too. If its ever on sale, I'd recommend it to anyone - RPG fans or not. Game is entertaining fukkery with polished gameplay.

I would play through Scarlett Nexus once to get a feel for it. The combat is repetitive but somewhat interesting with the brain drive and other skills. I felt the story took somewhat of a backseat to the gameplay.

Just got Berseria
Whoever was in charge of this need to do another one

It's so good it's like it's not a Tales game

Hopefully Arise hits too

No more kid or teen protagonists
And tone down the cuteness
And just keep the story and the pacing tight
