Anyone else does this?

Normally, I incorporate ab work into every workout session, but there isn't enough time to get it all in. So recently decided to set a day aside to focus solely on this. Been doing weekly sessions so far....No lifting at all...maybe some cardio, but nothing else.

At least an hour of 10-15 different ab exercises/variations: (upper/lower/obliques..). The results are almost instant. After a day or two of rest, you'll see a difference in your mid-section.

I actually just started doing this as well. You'll notice immediate improvement in posture etc and everything.

I'm giving the weights a rest for a bit - I feel like when you go heavy with weights, and leave abs til the end you're just gonna be tired.

Like you said you notice results when you do it this way, stomach and obliques feel more tighter and solid. I figure let me go hard, get abs now, then when I'm satisfied I can go back to the weights.

Precisely this. You can always go back to lifting, even intermittently and pick up right where you left off. But your core definitely requires a different kind of dedication.

I made the mistake of thinking specialized core training was some gimmicky bullshyt and that just doing squats and dead’s would take care of core strength. Incorporated it at the discretion of a back specialist and it has made a world of difference.

Dead bugs are the best IMO.

You can do them with or without moving your arms back. DO NOT let your back arch at all otherwise you’re just fukkin around.

Keep your torso completely locked and square.

OH AND make sure your legs maintain that 90 degree angle, don’t bring them too far back. Be very strict with all this stuff and you will see results very fast

The best and most convenient factor about ab work is that they are equipment-free and you can do them anywhere and anytime

The Bicycle Maneuver. Has been rated a top 5 routine by doctors for years. You can't go wrong with these. They practically work the entire core.
