madlib is more consistently better and more talented across the board, but alc has way more classic tracks and his sound is better defined whereas madlib is a renaissance hip hop musician


madlib also misses way more often than alc when he tries new creative things, but on the flipside thats what makes lib so dope


also that talib kweli madlib liberation album is maybe kwelis best solo work

The problem with Madlib is he doesn't work with enough top tier rappers; maybe someone can enlighten me but with the exception of Doom and Kweli I can't think of any well known MC's his given beats to. When considering the impact of the producer you also have take into account their ability to get their beats to best rappers and for whatever reason Mablib hasn't been able to do this.

Thread is getting tons of Alc beats posted and not enough Madlib, I'll flood the thread with dope shyt. It's especially puzzling b/c Alc and Madlib have extremely similar styles, and Madlib was doing said style before Alc was anyway:
