heard? Do you have a link or what?

“We still think it was a bad bill,” Sen. Bobby Singleton, D-Greensboro, told AL.com after the vote. “It’s an unnecessary bill, a bill based on concepts that are really not happening in Alabama. It’s a bill that was brought down from some national politics.”

“And so with that, we have to understand where we are,” he said. “We think we were able to put some amendments on it that made it a little bit more palatable.”

The bill will no longer prohibit college staff from discussing whether slavery and racism are aligned with the founding principles of the United States. It will add specific protections for women’s sports, the state Office of Minority of Affairs, funding for student and staff organizations, and would add “sex” to the list of protected classes in places where it was omitted.

The law bans any program that “advocates for a divisive concept.” In their list of divisive concepts, they include things like:

e. That individuals, by virtue of race, color, religion, sex, ethnicity, or national origin, are inherently responsible for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, religion, sex, ethnicity, or national origin.

f. That fault, blame, or bias should be assigned to members of a race, color, religion, sex, ethnicity, or national origin, on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, ethnicity, or national origin.

g. That any individual should accept, acknowledge, affirm, or assent to a sense of guilt, complicity, or a need to apologize on the basis of his or her race, color, religion, sex, ethnicity, or national origin.

h. That meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist.

In other words, they have now banned anyone in any public institution from even advocating for reparations or affirmative action, or even mention any sort of generational impact or responsibility for past wrongs.

(3) DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION PROGRAM. Any program, class, training, seminar, or other event where attendance is based on an individual's race, sex, gender identity, ethnicity, national origin, or sexual orientation, or that otherwise violates this act.

In other words, they've banned all programs specific to Black people.

:yeshrug:"Oh well, what are the Democrats doing. Maybe they will come with tangibles and THEN I will vote for them. As for getting into office in the first place, they need to figure that out cause i'm not voting."

Warning that this is how it starts. They get rid of forward-thinking educators by calling them "woke" and trying to draw up outrage.

Got to boot these people out of blue states before our colleges start to get rid of our Math departments like West Virginia University did.
