Akuma is the epitome of what street fighter is really. If you think he’s corny then all of its corny
The story and lore of street fighter didn’t even start to matter until super street fighter
fukk all that there's some dope characters in SF. Akuma is just lame shyt (so is Ken and Ryu)..

he's played out tbh
he had the best character introduction ever in ssf2t with how he came in and kills bison. then they had that cliche ass story in alpha about the dark hadou and they made him karate darth vader or some shyt
he was at his swaggiest in 3rd strike. his new supers, juggles, gray hair streaks and rope belt were dope. then he was a joke in sf4 (tazmanian devil super) and looks stupid in sf5 with that lion king hair. everyone loves him tho so he aint goin nowhere
