I was amazed at how much he was able to cover in such a short amount of time. A lot of starting points for me to research later. I knew about the Mali Empire and Ancient Egypt obviously but some of the other places he mentioned I have yet to delve deep into so this is going to be my inspiration to do that.

Great video!

Though I will state that Nubia and Egypt were sister cultures. Though Nubia and Egypt waged war upon each other, Nubians and Egyptians lived in both states for millenia.

I hate, hate, hate, hate it when people act like Nubia was the cut off line and Egypt is some strange, mysterious, unidentified "mixed" people totally separate from each other until the 25th dynasty.

Very annoying.

This was a great lecture. I'm gonna check for more of his stuff.
It's these type of lectures that many so-called Black people on here should to watch.


Most of the info I've come across in the past, but the way he delivers it is impressive.
I especially appreciate how Akala called out the naysayers that try to delegitimize this type of information because they assume that it's produced by Afro-centrists with agendas
