Another real good close battle. Liked both beats cuz they were dope as hell, but I feel Akademik took it. Loved the whole overall vibe too it. Kinda reminded me of a Streets of Rage bgm from back in the day lol.

Ran had a dope sample.

Both of ya'll have really nice drums. Akademik's joint sounds more of a life story joint to me and Ran's joint is more on that chill riding music to me. Too close, Gonna re-visit. Dope stuff fellas

Feelin' both beats. @AkaDemiK sounds like he switched up his style a bit this round. Dope track, really feelin' all the instrumentation. Doesn't sound like there's really any samples in this one. Impressive track.

@Ran Dakroyd brought his A++ game on this one, though. That sample is crazy and I love the way the chops push/pull around the drums. Reminded me of some early Dilla shyt. Did you use Sidechain compression to get that effect or just some ill cross fading? Either way, . One of the dopest tracks I've heard from you, my dude. Another beat that sounded like it would fit right on some late night Adult Swim plug.

Took Ran on this one. Good battle, fellas.

i knew going with a composed track was going to fukk me. There is no winning agsint samples this round. It's a damn shame too..because the track i wanted to use (sampled joint) ended up using up my memory in my daw (don't ask me how...smh) and i had to submit this random joint. fukk

GG Ran..dope sample, i'm not a fan of what u did with teh drums though...it sounds like you layered your own drums over the samples drums without properly matching em up..

I read your post and listened to his beat again and I hear what you saying about the drums. I can't break down all the technical aspects of some of these beats like some of ya'll producing nikkas can.

Me personally, I don't always vote for the more polished sounding beat if I don't really feel the melody, instruments or the vibe like that. A beat can be a lil off with something, but if the melody and all that other shyt blows me away then I vote for that.

I also noticed that sometimes the votes don't reflect how good a beat is. I thought Head shots dropped one of the best beats this round and that battle is lop-sided as fukk.
