That was one of the last surprises in wrestling for me. This was well into the NXT era, so for years we got to see top talents from all over the world just pop up in NXT with a new bum ass name and a killed momentum but they did AJ right. Even to this day he's slotted pretty high on the card and could be in line to be champ at almost any point. They leaned on him for awhile and i feel like he's delivered for the most part. He's not a superstar by any means but he's a capable talent that will put on good matches with pretty much anyone and he's definitely come a long way.

Bullet Club leader AJ in NJPW will always be his greatest run, they still to this day trying to recreate that magic
I cant stand the limited moveset they gave AJ in WWE
But hes had a few classics there too with Cena, and Brock

Going into the mid 2010s I would have never imagined him being in the wwe. Dude felt like a TNA lifer.

Fast forward, he's had banger matches with Roman reigns, brock lesnar, John cena, randy orton :heh:

All things considered, he did well in the WWE and I'm pleasantly surprised they allowed him to be featured so much. I really thought they'd ruin him like they usually do with outsiders.

Also one of the WOAT botches by the production team. That close up on Roman was brutal.

I mean more in the crossover sense. The avg person doesnt know who that man is. But as far as wrestling fans go he's def a big star and is recognizable if you're a fan.
I see what you're saying. It's just everybody I know don't watch but they all know what a styles clash is for some reason lol. I think his fame surpasses wrestlers like Sheamus though. No one knows who that bum is.
