Her parents didn’t identify as Black. She barely or had any contact at all with her dad. If they aren’t, how can see be? You explain that riddle away. What we do know from her own words is that she went back to India each year, to remind her of her Indian identity. And within recent years we have seen several non-Black women being exposed in Black institutions and organizations who leached off the Black identity. So that part wasn’t really convincing.
