After watching videos on the Detroit, Chicago & Baltimore school districts, how can it be fixed? Honestly--all bs aside.

have better and more invovled parents.

they got to work more than 40 hours a week to keep up with the bills since they don't have a living wage and get a good nights sleep. when can they be involved? little to no discretionary money in the household budget likely increases the stress felt by everyone.

Parents who don't give a fukk, school administrators who aren't qualified for their jobs, state legislators and governors who siphon off money to whiter cities/suburbs, teacher unions...there are too many forces at play to ever see this changed in the time it would take. Instead you'd see stonewalling until they can get rid of whichever mayor had the balls to try to change this.

C'mon my guy the kid that they focused on in the last video had a 0.62 GPA and the mother had no clue.

The Wire exposed all this shyt in the 4th and 5th seasons.

If you were a Teacher why in the fukk would you teach in the Baltimore city school system? If the kids fail it's your fault.

You may not know this but Howard County the next county over has one of the best public school systems in the Country.

It's a deep issue. But they shouldn't have had children in the first place then. It's my biggest gripe about trash parents.

That’s not really a good excuse considering all of our parents had to do this. Bottom line education just isn’t a priority like it used to be. When parents aren’t involved the kids really aren’t gonna give a fukk which trickles down to how they act in school which results in less qualified teachers actually giving a fukk about their job

Smaller Classrooms
Pay Teachers More
After School Programs
INVOLVED PARENTING

All of this is tried and true to work but silly ass Rethuglicans are trying to charter and privatize everything out to show the system is failing for their benefit.

Im a DPS Grad, from K-12, all of my schools except my high school (Cass Tech) closed, and by the time I left it was damn near 40-50 kids a classroom.

It's an orchestrated plan:

Set Arbitrary High Test Score Metrics --> Fail at those metrics due to lack of financial support and resources --> "The schools are failing and it's the Teachers fault" --> Defund the district --> Close schools and keep the poor uneducated and restrict access to schooling to the financially well off.

Private "Christian" Schools only exist because Whyte ppl wanted to keep segregation after Brown v. Board anyway.

All ny math teachers were Black Men and are the reason I'm an engineer now, I don't know where I would be in life if not for those men.

In summary, PAY TEACHERS MORE
